Years after singing alongside Johnny Thunders in the Oddballs, Alison Gordy returned to the microphone to record Blonde & Blue.

Her versions of “Just Another Girl” and “You Can’t Put Your Arms Around a Memory” have appeared on several Thunders tribute albums, yet her own record remained remarkably difficult to find. When I asked her about it, she explained that so few were made that each one was assembled by hand and graciously sent this copy.

That scarcity is a shame, because this is a genuinely good album. Its songs run the gamut from playful to anguished, and Alison delivers each one with enough force to drive its emotions straight into the heart.
