About this item

An original 1985 pressing of Johnny Thunders’ Que Sera, Sera picture disc (FREUD P9). I have no idea how many were produced, but I can’t imagine it was a huge number.

Que Sera, Sera was Johnny’s final studio album composed primarily of original songs. His later studio album with Patti Palladin, Copy Cats, consisted of cover versions.

In addition to Keith Yon and Tony St. Helene (the Black Cats) the record features a collection of Johnny’s friends and collaborators. One interesting thing I discovered while examining it is that Stiv Bators is somewhere in the background of the mix singing backing vocals on “Endless Party.” Jerry Nolan and Billy Rath play on “Tie Me Up,” and Patti Palladin, Michael Monroe, Wilko Johnson, Nasty Suicide, and several others also contributed.

So Alone, his first solo album, featured a similarly deep bench of collaborators. It only went to show that however chaotic his life was, he always seemed able to round up friends and fellow musicians to record and play with him.

How I got it

Found it on eBay for a pittance.
