Cheetah Chrome

Cheetah Chrome, through his work with Rocket from the Tombs, Frankenstein and, most famously, the Dead Boys, is one of a small handful of artists who helped define what punk would look like, sound like and act like.

News broke that Cheetah passed away yesterday, September 13, 2026, at the age of 71. All I can say is that he left his mark on the worl - something very few people do - and he will be remembered by many as his music and influence continue on.

Like so many others, I like to think he is now reunited with the many friends, bandmates and collaborators he lost throughout his life - an incredible cast of characters who helped shape the history of punk and rock ’n’ roll.
